• Welcome New Chamber Board Members!

    The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors: Derek Babcock, Brad Adamson and Liz Woods, who will join the Chamber Board in January 2019 and will each serve a 3-year term. 

    “These three individuals offer unique perspectives and business experience in their respective industries that will help to develop and serve the community of South Haven as they represent over 410 Chamber of Commerce members,” says South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Kathy Wagaman.

    Derek BabcockDerek Babcock is Bangor Community Fire Department’s Fire Chief, having been in fire service for 23 years.  His passion for community is evidenced by the many ways he serves, including as a Board Member for Bangor Public Schools, the 911 Advisory Board, Van Buren County Fire Chiefs Association Secretary/Treasurer, Bangor Community Foundation President, and Bangor Viking Club Vice President.  In addition, Babcock helps coordinate Bangor’s 4th of July fireworks celebration, Bangor’s lighted Christmas Parade, and Holiday gifts and food for the community.  He is proud to be married to his wife Jeannie for 24 years.


    Brad AdamsonBrad Adamson is co-owner of LASR Property Management, and is contracted by the City of South Haven to manage the South Haven Farm Market.  Brad is a licensed contractor and a licensed real estate sales person and is currently the Varsity Wrestling coach for South Haven High School.  Brad and his wife Casey moved to South Haven in 2004 when his family purchased Martha’s Vineyard Bed & Breakfast. 

     


    Liz WoodsLiz Woods is a small business owner with a background in communications and design.  She owns and operates Sweet Haven, a candy shop in downtown South Haven.  Before moving to South Haven, Liz owned three businesses in Central Indiana, including a restaurant, Production Company, and a sweet shop.  She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in her area, but also played an active role in MainStreet Indiana, leading the marketing committee of her local chapter and later spearheading a state-wide program raising funds for MainStreet revitalization programs.  Liz loves the business climate in South Haven and wishes to contribute to the continued success of the community.
