As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for building, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with local agencies, organizations, and businesses across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren Counties. Your role will enhance these agencies' ability to positively impact their communities by connecting them with volunteer teams and opportunities. Additionally, you will help local agencies use the Volunteer United/Galaxy Digital platform to track and manage volunteer opportunities, increasing community engagement and volunteerism.
Key Responsibilities
· Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with local agency volunteer managers/coordinators.
· Support local agencies in leveraging the Volunteer United/Galaxy Digital platform to track volunteer needs, record hours, and connect volunteers to opportunities.
· Assist agencies in identifying effective ways to engage volunteers in support of their mission.
· Train agency coordinators and leaders on how to use the Volunteer United/Galaxy Digital platform effectively.
· Represent UWSM at key community events, as assigned.
Other Requirements
· Use of personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
· Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
· Successful completion of a criminal background check (Only convictions, not prior arrests, are considered in the hiring process).
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Experience building relationships and working with databases is a plus.
All roles within UWSM have salary ranges based on the knowledge, skills, and experience of the successful candidate. The salary for this position will be determined by the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
