Emergency Planning Instructor
Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking an
Emergency Planning Instructor to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in
Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY
Conducts EP initial and continuing training and assists line with EP drills. Works closely with EP department personnel to identify weaknesses in knowledge, skill, and behavior, and then systematically leverages training solutions appropriately to close gaps in performance in a timely manner.
JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops instructional materials and conducts training for emergency response organization personnel. An incumbent for this position should have knowledge of instructional design theory (SAT/TSD). This individual is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements. Ensures the training program is maintained current by incorporating changes as necessary. Develops high-quality training materials. Conducts trainee evaluations in various training settings (classroom, laboratory, emergency facility, etc.,). Supports station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and other projects. The EP instructor is also required to participate in instructional continuing training. Must participate in management assessments. Ensures training records are complete, accurate and auditable. Demonstrates leadership by upholding high standards for performance in all training settings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Nuclear (preferable) or other related industry experience teaching emergency preparedness initial and/or continuing training. Knowledge of and experience using the systematic approach to training (SAT) process. Good interpersonal skills, effective writing and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to instruct. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Minimum education required of the position:
High School diploma or equivalent or associate’s/bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science, technology, engineering (electrical), mathematics, physics, etc., with four years of nuclear (preferable) or other related industry work experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:
Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position:
SRO license or SRO certification (BWR/PWR).
