Tuskegee Airman Lt. Frank H. Moody was killed in a training accident during World War II when the P-39 Airacobra he was flying crashed into Lake Huron. The archaeological documentation and recovery of the airplane wreckage is revealing stories of unrivaled perseverance and determination of the first African American pilots to fly for the United States Army.
